YOSHIDA KENTARO

 

Kentaro was born and raised in a rural fishing village in Toyama, Japan. At the age of 18, Kentaro decided to move to Australia in pursuit of the English language, sunny beaches and a more balanced lifestyle. After a decade, he is now an illustrator and artist, and is currently based in the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Kentaro is passionate about both traditional and digital mediums. Kentaro's pastel toned artwork has bold line-work, quirky characters, and a beach-side sense of humour.He has worked with various international brands, as well as individuals for private commissions. Kentaro also specialises in hand-painting artwork from large-scale murals, to detailed painting on fragile watercolour paper.

Design concept

 

I often feature two sides of the world in my work, it can be expressed by lively lady & deadly skeleton, growing plants / flower & chunk of dead flesh / trush, Sun & Moon, and day and night. I find this contrast in my life cycle too. For instance, when I go out and have fun and full of excitement at night time, then I regret with the worst hangover and pain in the morning after. I swear not to do this again, but I do the same thing again on another days over and over. I thought it'd be interesting to separate these routine on each of snowboard binding for each legs.

BLUCO.INC

 

BLUCO.INC began as Hermit-Selection, established in Tokyo in 2004. The brand specialized in products that captured the idea of "the bare minimum necessities," born the lifestyles of its founder Aoki Atsunori and his acquaintances. In 2006, the products expanded beyond this group as OIL WORK WEAR, a brand that was able to meet a greater range of demands, becoming the unwavering base of the current "BLUCO WORK GARMENT." From here, UNCROWD EYEWEAR (later UNCROWD CYCLETOGS) started up in 2010. These days, UNCROWD gear sits at the forefront of the market, used by mechanics and builders within Japan and overseas, and extending to skaters, bikers, and others in extreme sports where rough use is unavoidable. Their gear has further made its mark in the fashion scene, drawing high levels of support and widespread recognition for being tough, simple gear, without any frills.

Design concept

 

The design carries a message of “Cyclone for adults.” The mature-colored Cyclone suggests you be aggressive, not conservative!.
